With over 40 distinct dive sites within a 2 mile radius, West End is the perfect location on Roatán to set up base for your dive adventure. Those sites include deep coral wall drift dives, expansive sand patches and slopes (your best chance to see eagle rays and sting rays), winding shallow swim-thrus, large accessible shipwrecks and everything in between.

With long daylight hours, warm, clear waters, and an incredible array of dive sites all remarkably accessible, Roatán is a diver’s paradise. Photographers, adventure seekers, conscious conservationists, and beginner divers can all enjoy world-class experiences on the reefs of Roatán.

Join our top-rated, family-owned, valet dive company with its home on prime waterfront property in West End, Roatán. The shop’s location is such that the majority of dive sites are less than 10 minutes away by boat ride (great for seasick divers). The shop has a small group policy (max 6 person/Divemaster) to ensure safety, quality service and a personalized experience. Fast, comfortable, fully equipped (O2, first aid kit, life jackets, VHF radio, drinking water, snacks) dive boats tender you to the dive sites. SCUBAPRO rental equipment is all high-quality and meticulously maintained. Return from your dives to the dive shop to find a hot/cold beverage, a hot shower and all the fish talk you can handle.

Recommendations: Divers are recommended to dive with Nitrox as it will reduce nitrogen stress throughout the trip.

The Beach House Roatan overlooks Half Moon Bay in West End.

During your eight night stay, you’ll call The Beach House home. This charming beachfront boutique hotel is situated on Half Moon Bay directly next to the dive shop. Located in Roatán’s iconic West End, The Beach House has fourteen guest suites, an on-site restaurant and bar, and a private dock with its own bar.

The guest suites are comprised of five ground-floor suites, four second-floor suites and five third-floor suites. All suites have a full bathroom (complete with a hair dryer), television, ceiling fans, a mini refrigerator stocked with drinking water, wi-fi, and–of course–air conditioning. The beds are Sealy and we provide top quality Brooklinen cotton sateen sheets.

It is tucked away in a quiet corner of town directly next to the dive shop, which means you’ll enjoy uninterrupted relaxation when you want rest, and quick access to beaches, restaurants and bars when you’re ready to explore, with no time lost to transportation.

Conservation & Environmental STEWARDShip

Our dive shop is tightly partnered with the Roatan Marine Park, and you have the option to participate in two different conservation projects:

  • Coral Restoration Project through the Coral Reef Ambassador training, during which you will learn about the importance of coral reefs and receive hands-on training in coral restoration techniques. Your course fee includes a donation to the Roatan Marine Park.

  • Invasive lionfish hunting license, enabling you to help control the population of this highly destructive invasive species and participate in a specially designed lionfish hunting excursion. Then, enjoy a delicious locally-styled lionfish meal, to be prepared by your guide Alex.

Additionally, part of the proceeds of your trip will be donated to SOL Roatan, a non-profit organization serving the youth of the island. You also have the opportunity to participate in a volunteer project with SOL Roatan in a more hands-on capacity if you choose.

Inside Under will also provide insight during preparations for the trip on how to minimize your ecological footprint.
