Galápagos Islands, Ecuador

November 2019

7-night liveaboard Trip

Trips to the Galapagos Islands are arguably the most sought after dive experience available anywhere on Earth, and now a personal tour with an expert dive guide is available to you.

The Galápagos archipelago sits 600 miles off the west coast of Ecuador. Situated of the confluence of 4 large ocean currents, the Galápagos features a unique cast of creatures like sea lions, over 30 species of sharks. Endemic marine species, found only in the Galápagos, include the marine iguana and the Galápagos penguin; both highlights in a lifetime of diving. At the northern end of the island chain are islands Darwin and Wolf. These deep-ocean pinnacles attract the largest and and most dense populations of hammerhead sharks, as well as manta rays and whale sharks.

Scalloped hammerheads congregate in the hundreds around the pinnacles of the northern islands of Galapagos, and nowhere else in the world will you find shark density and diversity as high.

Its very common to encounter sea lions during your dives around the Galapagos, and they are not shy. Expect a show and maybe even an extra dive buddy.

Accessible only through Ecuador, this world-renowned national park and marine reserve offers a chance to dive the wild ocean and view nature in it's purest state. The park consists of more than 13 main islands and hundreds of smaller rocks and islets, and the 50,000 square miles surrounding them. During this trip you will explore the northern islands aboard La Nortada, a private diving yacht exclusively priced for Inside Under. The itinerary will include a majority of dives around Darwin and Wolf, with other dives at Fernandina, Isabela, Cousins Rock and more on the journey to and from the north.

dive & Stay - La Nortada

Darwin and Wolf Islands are the crown jewel in any divers career. Known for huge aggregations of scalloped hammerhead sharks, and as an integral part of the life history of whale sharks, you will dive 12 of your 21 dives around these two remote islets. On the way to and from Darwin and Wolf, you’ll visit areas little known to man, and encounter some of the most unique marine creatures on the face of the planet, including but not limited to Galapagos penguins, marine iguanas, flightless cormorants and a wide of array of potential pelagic animals like manta rays, eagle rays, dolphins, Mola mola, orcas and more.

A giant oceanic manta ray cruises the nutrient-rich waters of Galapagos. Divers can hope to encounter these, as well as schooling hammerhead sharks, whale sharks and many others.
